Most of these assistants work in physicians’ offices and other healthcare facilities, so their physical working conditions are typically good. In 2014, 59% of all medical assistants worked in physicians’ offices. Most medical assistants work full time. Working conditions for some medical assistants can include work evenings or weekends to cover shifts in medical facilities that are open 24 hours a day.
