Privacy Policy

This is the internet privacy statement of the All Things Political. ("ATP").  This statement discloses the privacy practices for www.allthingspolitical.org (the "Website").

Information Collection and Use: All Things Political is the sole owner of any information collected on the Website.  ATP will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways other than those outlined in this statement.  Personal information provided by users will be used by ATP to improve the site and to provide a more personalized experience for the user. Any information which identifies a specific individual will not be disclosed to other parties without the user's permission unless necessary to provide services which the user has requested.

Registration: General use of the Website does not require registration or the disclosure of any personal information. However, additional or special services may, from time to time, be offered on the Website and access to such services may require registration and the submission of personal information. To use these additional or special services a user may be required to provide us with certain mandatory personal data (such as name and email address). This information will be used to communicate with the user about the requested service. Certain optional demographic data (such as gender or income level) may also be requested and we would encourage users to provide such information in order to give a user a more personalized experience on the Website.

Cookies: A cookie is a piece of data stored on a user's hard drive containing information about the user. We may use cookies to allow users to more efficiently use the Website. For example, by setting a cookie from the Website, a user of a Website service that requires a password would not have to log in a password more than once during a session, thereby saving time while using the Website. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users as they visit different sections of the Website, thereby giving us useful insight about how Website services can be improved. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the Website. Once the user closes the browser, a cookie simply terminates.

Log Files: We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the Website, track users' movement, and gather broad information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Links: The Website contains links to other websites on the World Wide Web. Please be aware that ATP is not responsible for the privacy practices of any other such sites. This privacy statement applies exclusively to the Website (www.allthingspolitical.org). It is the sole responsibility of the user to familiarize themselves with the privacy practices of any other website they utilize.

Revising Personal Information and/or Registered Services: If a registered user's personal information changes (such as an email address), we will make a best effort to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data from our records. Registered users will also be given the opportunity to "unsubscribe" from a registered service (such as email newsletters). Users of the Website are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so users can make an informed choice as to whether or not they should proceed with services that may require an outside party.

Site and Service Updates: Registered users may periodically receive email service and/or site announcement updates. Because these announcements contain important information about the Website and the services contained therein, registered users are not able to unsubscribe from service and/or site announcement updates.

Notice of Changes: If we decide to change our privacy policy and these changes involve the way in which we use personally identifiable information, we will notify registered users of these changes by email.

Third Party Advertisers: We use third-party advertising companies, including Google, to serve ads on the Website. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.  Google uses the DART cookie to enable it to serve ads to visitors to the Website and other sites on the Internet.  Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.    We also partner with ValueClick to serve ads when you visit our website. ValueClick may use cookies or web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information during your visit to this website in order to help show advertisements on other websites likely to be more interesting to you. To learn more about this “behavioral advertising” practice or to opt-out of this use of your anonymous information, you can visit http://valueclickmedia.com/member_privacy.shtml
